Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Body Piercing & Photo ID Requirements
Since body piercing is a service that requires proof of age as per our insurance, we do require anyone signing for themselves (16+) to have valid government issued photo ID with them. If you're a legal guardian and will be signing for a minor, we do require yourself to have valid government issued photo ID and then something government issued with the minor's date of birth.
Appointment only. Even for jewelry shopping?
Correct! Since we are a small boutique store, we don't have a super large lobby or a ton of staff to help each walk-in client the way we strive for. This way we are able to give you our undivided attention on prices, placement, suitable styles etc. Jewelry isn't a one size fits all and we are not able to "guess" the size of what someone's nostril ring size would be. This is also why we require the person who's getting the jewelry to be there at the time of the appointment, to ensure everything is suitable and properly fit. (There is also no fee to book a "jewelry browse" so no pressure!)
Downsizing jewelry. Do I need it?
Most ear/oral/facial piercings will require a downsize, some may not. We will go over aftercare during the piercing appointment and will also provide you with an aftercare card that further explains these instructions. Downsizing is typically required in cased where the initial jewelry is longer to accommodate for swelling and to avoid embedding during the healing process. While some folks do not want to downsize, it can be beneficial to do so to help avoid snagging the jewelry or cause angling of the piercing (which in turn causes pain).
If you're unsure if you require downsizing, you're more than welcome to book in or reach out to inquire.
